Samsung Galaxy TabPro S and Gear S2 Classic Overview

The biggest technology and consumer electronic company, Samsung, was here at CES 2016 in Las Vegas. We all have high expectations from large companies, such as Samsung, Sony, LG, Panasonic, and more. Personally, as from a consumer’s point of view, I think Samsung did well to impress the general public. This year at CES 2016 Samsung press event, they announced the Galaxy Gear S2 Classic and TabPro S. Today, I visited Samsung booth and let’s see more about the product.

Galaxy TabPro S

2 in 1 is the best solution for those who need both portability and productivity. Samsung unveiled the TabPro S during the press event at CES 2016. TabPro S features one of the thinest and lightest sleek looking design with a keyboard that reminds me the Microsoft Type Cover. Did Samsung made this to make another pointless competition in the market? Or is it actually a good product? Let’s take a look.

Intel Core M may not be attractive due to recent performance benchmarks from the Apple Macbook’s. However, you guys have to understand that this is not meant to play games or do any serious video or photo editing. This 2 in 1 is meant for those who needs to write documents at any place at any time. I think Core M’s are amazing at what they are targeted to do. It allows fanless design and pretty powerful performance considering only 4.5W power consumption.

According to Samsung, AMOLED, or Active-Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode, display have superior clarity and color accuracy. Compared to typical TN, or Twisted Nematic, display, AMOLED display has 94% true color reproduction and deeper color contrast. From my own eyes, I could not tell the difference between this AMOLED display to IPS display featured in the Macbook Pro.

I think ProTab S is not the best, but not the worst approach to 2 in 1 solution. Considering Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 Tablet is $500, I assume that this one will be somewhere around $500 to $650 range. For this price, I think this is a great 2 in 1 device.

Galaxy Gear S2 Classic

18K Rose Gold & Platinum Gear S2 Classic

In 2013, Samsung announced their very first smart watch, the Galaxy Gear. However, Samsung Gear was criticized for its poor battery life and awkward gesture-based user interface to have full smartwatch experience compared to couple buttons on the Pebble.

Fortunately, Samsung cared about our user experiences, for brought rotating bezel design on the Gear S2. This technology allowed us to navigate through apps and features in the smart swatch easier and faster. So, what is the difference between S2 classic and S2? The short answer is, not much. S2 classic is not a new generation product, it’s an update or an additional member of S2 family. Only thing that I can point out is that S2 classic is ted lighter than S2, and has iOS compatibility.
